Camping Breakfast
October 1st 2008 10:11
Camping gives you the freedom to get away from the world, relax and enjoy nature without the pressures to keep up to date with the latest news, last nights television must sees or keeping an eye on your inbox.
Camping also allows you the prospect of forgetting to carry with you vital equipment which makes everyday living sooooo much more comfortable.
It wasn’t long after we had set up camp that we realised we had forgotten to pack our bag chairs. It fact, it was just after we had finished setting everything up and were ready to ‘sit back’ and relax with a drink. There was no sitting back to be down. Instead, we lounged on the air-mattress and tried to find a spot on the ground without too many small spiky things to sit on.
Our second moment of ‘we forgot to bring….’ came the next morning when we cracked a couple of eggs into the frying pan for breakfast and realised we hadn’t packed an egg flip, or in fact any actual utensils. We did have plastic knives and forks from the picnic set, and they were just going to have to do.
For the record, our fried breakfast was just as appealing as ever, though we only cooked up one egg each and decided to take the pan back home with us to clean.
We now have a ‘camping eggflip’ packed in with our supplies – we will never need to sacrifice a hearty breakfast for the sake of an eggflip again!
What? You want yours scrambled…. Does anyone have a whisk…..
