Egg Update

The days are getting longer and the chickens are reaching their maturity. As a result, we are regularly finding four eggs in our nesting box each day. And, along with the newfound routine which the girls are happy to adhere to, we are getting some massive eggs.

As you can see by the pic, this egg is probably 50 per cent larger than the others, and it is not uncommon to find two or three of these a week. I have no idea which chicken is making these double yolk monsters – but she certainly deserves a pat on the back – or at the very least and few more bugs in her supper!
