Grilled figs with honey and almonds
April 12th 2011 11:45
It's that time of year again - the figs are lovely and ripening up.
We have eaten plenty of them straight from the tree, but for something a bit different I pulled together this easy dessert.
It was warm, sweet and delicous.
Feel free to mix it up by using golden syrup or quince jelly instead of honey, some ricotta instead of the yoghurt or some pistachios instead of the almonds. Any which way, you're sure to love it.

Cut a cross in the top of each fig, and use your fingers to push the base together and the top will flower out. Dollop a small amount of butter and about a teaspoon of honey into the middle of each fig. Dust with some ground cinnamon and sprinkle with a small handful of nuts.
Place under a pre-heated medium-high grill and cook for approximately 10 minutes. Serve with a good dollop of natural or vanilla yoghurt.
