Home Made Pizza

A tasty and easy meal to prepare for friends on a Friday night is home-made pizzas. When the in-laws came around the other night, we did just that.
I cheat a little (or actually quite a lot…) and use my bread machine to make the dough. My main reason for doing this is that I can use the timer function and have the dough ready when I arrive home from work. This takes a lot of stress out of the whole exercise.
For our gourmet pizzas last week I roasted some pumpkin (yes, still eating the pumpkins…) and picked some fresh snow peas from the garden, added red onion, fetta cheese as well as mushrooms, olives and salami. We also made one using beef mince which had been marinated with smoky barbecue sauce and included red onion, olives, mushrooms and anything else that didn’t fit on the first pizza.
Pizza is one of those food which society says can be eaten with fingers – so it cuts down on the dishes, and as long as everyone plays nicely, you can simply place a chopping board with the pizza on it in the middle of the table and let your guests help themselves. Bon Appetite!
What are your favourite gourmet pizza toppings?
