Spring has sprung

It’s spring! And that means sunny 20 something degree days with cool nights and occasional showers. It also means it is time to plant summer veggies in the garden. Where I live we receive frost until about October, so, I have purchased a little plastic ‘greenhouse’ where I can sew my seeds.
This season I am hoping for a bumper crop of tomatoes so I can make some pasta sauces and lots of sundried tomatoes for the year to come. For this reason, I have planted three cherry tomato seeds, three roma tomato seeds and three garden tomato seeds. I will actually plant more tomato seeds than this, but I don’t want 20 kgs of tomatoes to come all at once!
I have also planted seeds for finger eggplants, onions, radishes, coriander, sage, basil as well as some Echinacea seeds. I don’t particularly know how to use this herb to improve health (something to do with the roots) but I do love the way the flowers sit ‘upside down’ on the top of the steam.
