The European Cafe

The European Café at Norwood was recommended to me by a friend, so when I had to pick a venue for a catch up with some old work colleagues, it immediately sprang to mind.
Although the decor could use a bit of a ‘pick me up’, as soon as I walked I was enveloped by the warm and friendly atmosphere. Pizzas were twirled within eye sight and the table staff were attentive and polite.
For our meal we ordered some garlic bread as well as large pollo pizza, and a small gourmet pizza. The highlight of the meal was the creamy dill sauce that was drizzled onto the chicken pizza. The warm dill flavour helped to tie the whole thing together. The gourmet pizza was also good – but I wasn’t as taken as I was with the chicken.
Other dishes on the menu included risotto, a variety of meats and of course pasta.
The wine list was also quite extensive, with a few South Australian favourites easy identifiable.
Our meal was delicious and filling – but like all good dinners with friends, I was able to squeeze in some gelati from down the road for dessert.
